Taoyuan's "Pearl Coast" MRT connects the Taoyuan Land Art Festival area
During the "Taoyuan Land Art Festival 2026," which kicks off on July 4, residents will have the opportunity to ride the "Pearl Coast" themed MRT. As reported by Indonesia.focustaiwan.tw, the company stated in a press release that, in collaboration with the Taoyuan City Department of Culture, this specially decorated MRT will operate from Tuesday to August 30.
Passengers can monitor the train's position in real time and check the congestion level using the "i-Taoyuan Metro" mobile app to facilitate their travel planning, the company said.
Additionally, residents can use Taoyuan MRT daily passes, TPASS commuter passes, or senior citizen or disabled citizen cards from Taoyuan, New Taipei, and Taipei, the company added.
The Department of Culture explained that this year's festival, which kicks off on Saturday, focuses on Taoyuan's marine ecology and fisheries culture.
The event will feature 72 artworks created by artists from 13 countries, and will also feature a variety of cultural performances, the department said.
The department explained that the "Pearl Coast"-themed car design incorporates visuals from the two main exhibition areas—Zhuwei and Yong'an Fishing Ports—and four important ecological zones: Xucuogang Wetland, Caota Sand Dunes, Guanxin Algae Reef, and Xinwu Rock Reef.
All the coastal natural features, fishing ports, wetlands, sand dunes, and algae reefs, are artistically integrated into the MRT body to showcase the natural beauty and cultural landscape of Taoyuan's coastline, the department said.
The Taoyuan City Government added that during the festival, free feeder bus services will be provided both inside and outside the exhibition area.
Visitors can take the Taoyuan Airport MRT to Kengkou Station A11 and continue their journey by feeder bus to the Zhuwei Fishing Port exhibition area, the city government stated.
Alternatively, visitors can get off at Taoyuan HSR Station A18 and transfer to a feeder bus to the Yong'an Fishing Port exhibition area, then utilize the circular feeder bus network between zones to easily explore the entire exhibition area of the landscape art festival, the city government stated.
