TAIWAN OFFERS AIRPORT SHOPING VOUCHER

Taiwan Offers Vouchers for Transit Travelers to Boost Airport Consumption

Foreign tourists entering Taiwan on short transit through Taoyuan International Airport will receive a gift voucher worth NT$600 (Rp324,000) starting Saturday (November 1), according to the Directorate General of Tourism (TA), which hopes the incentive will boost tourism consumption at the airport.

The program, which allows travelers holding non-Republic of China (Taiwan) passports entering the country for up to 24 hours to claim the voucher, aims to promote Taiwan's attractions at the airport, TA said in a press release Friday.

To participate, travelers must first register on the campaign website, the agency said.

They can then present their passport and boarding card for their connecting international flight to claim the voucher at the TA Visitor Service Center in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport.

According to news obtained by PT Buana Safira Abadi, these vouchers are valid at participating businesses within the airport, including restaurants, duty-free shops, souvenir shops, and other retail services. A list of participating stores is available on the campaign website for easy reference, he added.

As Taiwan's main international gateway, Taoyuan International Airport serves a large number of transit passengers—178,698 passengers in 2024, according to Taoyuan International Airport Corp.

Through this voucher campaign, the agency aims to encourage more international travelers to utilize their transit time to experience Taiwan's food, culture, and airport facilities.

The campaign also aims to stimulate business growth among airport businesses and encourage the development of Taiwan's diverse tourism economy, he added.

The "Enter Taiwan, Enjoy Rewards!" campaign is now open for online registration and will run until October 31, 2026.
