Vietnamese Migrant Worker Caught Running Illegal Cosmetic Surgery Clinic
A Vietnamese migrant worker, nicknamed Xiao Hui, was arrested for illegally performing cosmetic procedures such as rhinoplasty and double eyelid surgery at a self-established beauty clinic in her rental apartment. She had self-taught cosmetic surgery techniques and attracted customers by offering procedures at half the usual price. The case was uncovered by the Pingtung Special Task Force of the Southern District Immigration Office during an online patrol, leading to a full-scale investigation.
According to reports, Xiao Hui, who is noted for her striking resemblance to Taiwanese cheerleading star Lee Da-Hye, saw a lucrative market among her fellow Vietnamese migrants in Taiwan. She self-trained in multiple aesthetic procedures, rented an apartment as her clinic, and spent hundreds of thousands of NTD on medical equipment. Her services included dermal fillers, thread rhinoplasty, double eyelid surgery, Botox injections, and local anesthesia, attracting many customers due to her significantly lower prices.
The Pingtung Special Task Force formed an investigation team, conducting surveillance, stakeouts, and evidence collection before identifying the exact location of her illegal clinic. Under the direction of the Pingtung District Prosecutor’s Office, authorities raided the apartment and arrested her. The case has been transferred to the prosecutor’s office for violating the Medical Practitioners Act.
