A fire broke out this afternoon in a three-story steel-structured dormitory for migrant workers on Fulin Street in Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City. Thick smoke quickly spread, engulfing the dormitory in flames within a short time. Taoyuan Fire Department dispatched a large number of personnel and vehicles upon receiving the report. They successfully evacuated 144 migrant workers and extinguished the fire without any injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The dormitory, located on Fulin Street in Taoyuan District, is a three-story steel-structured building. Around 4:38 p.m. today, thick smoke was seen rising from the building, and the fire rapidly grew out of control. The fire department dispatched 72 firefighters and 27 rescue vehicles to the scene, where the dormitory was already engulfed in flames.

Firefighters promptly evacuated 144 migrant workers and set up water lines to extinguish the fire. The flames were brought under control by 5:12 p.m., and residual fires were subsequently handled. Severe charring was observed on the third floor, which is suspected to be the fire’s point of origin.
