THE INDONESIAN TRADE AND ECONOMIC COMMITTEE IN TAIPEI HOLDS ANOTHER COORDINATION MEETING TO IMPROVE THE PROTECTION OF INDONESIAN MIGRANT WORKERS IN TAIWAN

The Coordination Meeting was held by the Indonesian Trade and Economic Committee in Taipei as an effort to increase the protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Taiwan as well as representatives from the WDA. This Coordination Meeting was held to increase efforts to increase protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers in Taiwan through speed in providing services to Indonesian Migrant Workers. This coordination meeting also awarded 5 (five) best Department of Manpower awards for their synergy and dedication in handling Indonesian Migrant Workers cases, namely from Changhua County, Hsinchu City, New Taipei City, Pingtung County and Taoyuan City.

This coordination meeting was held on November 3 2023, and was the third performance. In his remarks, Deputy Head of the Indonesian Economic Trade Committee in Taipei, Zulmartinof said, "It is a joint task to be able to formulate appropriate programs or activities to reduce the number of problems of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Taiwan, and determine efforts to protect Indonesian Migrant Workers through appropriate problem solving services. Effective.

This coordination meeting carried the theme "Efforts to Increase the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Taiwan through speed in providing services to Indonesian Migrant Workers". This theme was chosen based on experience in the field in receiving Indonesian Migrant Workers complaints. The number of complaints handled by the Indonesian Trade and Economic Committee in Taipei last year was 598 cases and currently the number of complaints has reached 400, with a resolution rate of more than 88%. Other protection efforts include complaint channels through the 1955 call center, services at the airport, and Line channels in various languages.

 

WDA Senior Executive Officer Hu Hsing Yeh said that Indonesian workers are very popular with Taiwanese people. He expressed his gratitude because Indonesian workers helped improve Taiwan's economy. He added that in August 2023, the Taiwanese and Indonesian governments will hold a meeting in Indonesia.
