PMI BECOMES THE MOST FOREIGN WORKERS TO RECEIVE THE DEGREE OF EXAMPLE WORKER 2023 IN KAOHSIUNG
Kaoshiung (22/04/2023) IETO Taipei attended the 2023 Kaohsiung City Exemplary Worker and Trade Union Awarding event at the Kaohsiung Forest Palace which was organized by the Kaohsiung local authority and supported by the local Labor Bureau. This annual event was also attended by the Mayor of Kaohsiung, Director General of the Kaohsiung City Employment Bureau, representatives from the Philippines and Thailand, members of the DPR and DPRD Kaohsiung, employment agency associations and labor unions in Kaohsiung.
Mayor of Kaohsiung, Mr. Chi-Mai Chen, said that Kaohsiung has the lowest unemployment rate in Taiwan and this achievement is the result of cooperation between various parties. He also appreciated the hard work of foreign workers who have contributed to Kaohsiung's economy, in fact currently there are foreign workers in every field of work in Kaohsiung. Members of the Kaohsiung DPR and DPRD in their speeches agreed to encourage efforts to ensure work safety and security as well as optimizing insurance for workers who have an important role in development in Kaohsiung.
A total of 39 labor unions from various fields received awards and 50 Taiwanese workers and 20 foreign workers won the title of exemplary worker in 2023. Of the 20 exemplary foreign workers selected, PMI was the largest number of foreign workers who received the exemplary worker title, namely 7 (seven) people. . To obtain this degree, several aspects are assessed, including language skills, work skills, and recommendations from employers.
The seven exemplary PMIs who have worked in Taiwan for 4-15 years are Rina Purpitasari (Elderly Nurse) from Ponorogo, Central Java; Siti Nurwahyuni (Elderly Nurse) from Tulungagung, East Java; Mudrikah (Elderly Nurse) from Wonosobo, Central Java; Neli Lestiani (Elderly Nurse) from Cirebon, West Java; Edi Permana (Factory Operator) from Cimahi, West Java; Hartini (Elderly Nurse) from Ponorogo, Central Java; and Haryani (Elderly Nurse) from East Lampung, Lampung.
"The key to working in Taiwan is to be patient and don't be vague," said Rina Purpitasari to other PMIs.
